And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
This lesson is the final segment on how faith comes. Having said that, it may be the most significant. The final chapter in my book, “From Faith To Faith” is a study of James 5:15.
Foundational Thought #1:
The prayer of faith has a guarantee

The sick are made whole, they are raised up and sins are forgiven.
We have been caught up in elders and oil and have not fully understood the role they play in the process (it's the prayer of Faith that performs the miracle).

The oil is a visual reminder that nothing happens without the power of the Holy Spirit.

The purpose of the elder is to exhort the needy of the facts of redemption through Jesus.

Presenting what Jesus has purchased, turns us from the problem, including self-effort, to what he has accomplished for us.
The prayer of faith is a supernatural response produced by the message of redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ.

It's overwhelming, spontaneous, and effective.

It comes from within you and through you.

When Faith comes, faith prays; it bursts forth in healing, saving, redemptive power.

Redemption in Christ Jesus is a complete solution.

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Foundational Thought #2:
The power of the Gospel, which is redemptive power, was displayed at your conversion.
Faith prayed! We were forgiven and at that time we knew near nothing about faith.
What happened? My personal experience was likely not that different from yours. I heard what Jesus did for me, how much He loved me, and the price he paid to redeem me. When I saw Him, faith arose in my heart and I called upon Him and was born again.
Many have what I call a “faith struggle,” trying to get faith. As a teacher I am endeavoring to get you to see Jesus, and the result is faith comes by hearing and faith will produce the results in your life.
